The shortest line can miss the earliest connection.

One screen, many parcels

A customer follows one box. The operating network coordinates many shipments, vehicles, facilities, cutoffs, schedules, and capacity.

Availability changes the race

A geographically longer path can arrive earlier when it catches earlier usable connections. A simultaneous nonstop vehicle would ordinarily be faster.

The screen cannot prove the cause

The same visible pattern can reflect a normal path, limited event history, or an operational change or error. In the historical USPS audit, planned diversion is distinguished from genuine misroute.
